Traditional Marketing Strategies

From the age of 8 Britney Spears had already performed in numerous talent shows, she auditioned for the All New Mickey Mouse Club however got turned down because she was too young. Two years later she auditioned again and won the part. Another two years passed and the show was canceled and so she returned home. As a young teenager she became eager to be a star again, she traveled back to New York. She sent out demo tapes to to various labels including Sony and Mercury, but was turned down again. However, finally it was Jive Records that took her on and made her in to the star she is today.


She released her first album "Baby One More Time" and had to carry out many promotional activities. She promoted heavily at the Hair Zone Mall Tour which was based in shopping malls around larger cities, she did small sets and based in some food courts. Jive records helped her heavily in promoting the album and said that the tour was created to promote Britney. She made many appearances on talk shows and did live shows all around the world, she even made an appearance on Nickelodeons TV show "All That". She had a mini Disney concert with Joey McIntyre and even did a Baby One More Time tour in support of the album.
